The tradition of Christmas Bells dates back as far as the thirteenth century, although carols were originally communal songs sung during
celebrations like harvest tide as well as Christmas. It was only later that carols began to be sung in church, and to be specifically
associated with Christmas.
Traditionally, Bells have often been part of Christmas carols and songs and sometimes give them their uniquely characteristic musical sound.
Christmas bells can be Sleigh Bells as in Jimgle bells, or hand bells which accompany many christmas carols, or even represent the large main church
bells that often ring loudly on Christmas day.
