Earth Day proved popular in the United States and around the world as a teaching and "day of awareness" around ecology issues.
Earth Day coloring pages make a great way to teach and display the importance of ecology. Print a series of Earth Day coloring pages
and let each student color a different page, then display and discuss the importance of each coloring page image.

Earth Day, celebrated on April 22nd, is an international "awareness holiday" designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment.
Earth Day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson (D-Wisconsin) in 1970 as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year.
The first Earth Day had participants and celebrants in two thousand colleges and
universities, roughly ten thousand primary and secondary schools, and hundreds of communities across the United States. More importantly,
it "brought 20 million Americans out into the spring sunshine for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform.
